EIT Urban Mobility Partners with Tania Gerard Digital on Inclusion Training

Big news: TGD is going European

I’m delighted to share that EIT Urban Mobility, Europe’s largest innovation community for urban mobility, has hired Tania Gerard Digital to deliver training on inclusion in the workplace and inclusive communications. The programme starts on the 1st December 2026.

This one means a lot. EIT Urban Mobility works across dozens of countries to shape how people move around our cities. Choosing to invest in inclusion shows real leadership. When the people designing the future of transport understand inclusion, everyone gets a better journey.

Who are EIT Urban Mobility?

EIT Urban Mobility is an initiative of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. Founded in 2019 and co-funded by the EU, its mission is to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility.

  • Headquarters: Barcelona, with Innovation Hubs in Amsterdam, Munich, Copenhagen, Barcelona and Prague

  • Network: 250+ partner organisations and 1,250+ stakeholders across 33 countries

  • Startups: 140+ in its investment portfolio

  • Focus: connecting stakeholders, developing talent, bringing innovations to market and helping startups scale

In short, they bring together cities, businesses, universities and startups to make urban transport cleaner, smarter and more liveable.

Why inclusion matters in mobility

Transport is one of the most inclusive — or exclusive — experiences in daily life. A confusing app, a crowded station or an unclear announcement can stop someone from getting to work, school or a hospital appointment.

The teams designing those systems need to reflect the people who use them. That starts inside the organisation:

  • Diverse teams build better products. When neurodivergent and disabled people feel able to contribute, you spot barriers before they reach the public.

  • Clear communication travels further. EIT Urban Mobility works across 33 countries. Plain, accessible language helps non-native speakers, neurodivergent people and busy partners alike.

  • Inclusion is a talent strategy. Companies that support different ways of thinking attract and keep the best people.

Inclusive cities need inclusive organisations behind them.

What the training covers

The training has two strands, both practical and built around how EIT Urban Mobility’s teams actually work.

1. Inclusion in the workplace

  • Understanding neurodiversity, including ADHD, autism, dyslexia and more

  • Recognising and respecting different communication preferences

  • Making reasonable adjustments that are simple, low-cost and effective

  • Inclusive management and leadership: how to get the best from every team member

  • The legal and HR picture, so managers feel confident, not cautious

2. Inclusive communications

  • Writing in plain, accessible language for international audiences

  • Accessible documents, presentations and emails

  • Inclusive social media and website content, aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA

  • Running meetings and events that work for everyone

Everyone leaves with actions they can use the very next day. No jargon, no box-ticking.
