I'm Speaking at brightonSEO 2026: Why Website Accessibility Determines AI Search Visibility (and yes, it's a bucket list moment)

To be honest, I've wanted to speak at brightonSEO for years. It's one of those events that's always been on the list and this October, I'm finally doing it.

I'll be on stage and around on 8th & 9th October 2026 talking about something I genuinely believe more businesses need to hear:

"If Your Website Isn't Accessible, AI Search Will Make You Invisible."

What does website accessibility have to do with AI search?

I don't gatekeep. It's my thing. So let me just say it plainly: the accessibility standards you've probably been ignoring or ticking off as a box-checking exercise are the same standards AI search engines rely on to actually understand your website.

WCAG 2.2 and AI search citation requirements are, technically, the same thing at infrastructure level. Clean semantic HTML, proper heading structure, descriptive alt text, and accessible content hierarchy don't just help screen reader users, they're exactly what AI crawlers and large language models need to parse, understand, and cite your site.

So if your site isn't accessible, you're not just locking out disabled customers. You're becoming invisible to the AI tools that are quietly deciding who shows up and who doesn't.

Don't believe me? Come to the seaside and I'll prove it.

What we'll actually cover

I'm not interested in giving you a talk full of theory and no action. So expect:

  • Real data on where accessibility and AI search genuinely overlap

  • Case studies from work I've done with companies like the NHS, Greene King, and Help for Heroes

  • What to fix first if you want your site to show up in both worlds

  • Something you can action that very day

Because that's the bit that matters most to me. I'm not doing this to make you feel bad about your website. I'm doing it because when I've helped businesses get this right, it's genuinely made them a lot of money. And I want you leaving that room with something you can actually use.
